Privacy Policy
The short version: Rize runs no servers, shows no ads, and does no tracking. Your app data stays on your iPhone and in your personal iCloud, which only you can access. Optional sleep data is read from Apple Health and processed on your iPhone. We cannot see, sell, or share your data, because it never reaches us.
Who we are

Your account (Sign in with Apple)
Rize requires Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple gives the app a stable, anonymous user identifier and, only on your first sign-in, your name and email address if you choose to share them. These are stored on your device (the identifier in the device Keychain) and are used to greet you and show your account in Settings. They are never transmitted to the developer or to any third party.
What the app stores
- Alarms and preferences: stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud (CloudKit) so your other devices see them.
- Streaks, profile name, and settings: stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud key-value storage.
- Profile photo: stored only as a file on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere and is not synced.
- Apple Health sleep data: if you enable Sleep Analytics, Rize receives read-only access to the sleep samples you choose to share. The app calculates nightly scores, trends, and coaching on your iPhone. Rize does not upload, store in its own database, add to CloudKit, sell, or share your Health data.
iCloud data lives in your personal, private iCloud account. The developer has no technical ability to read it. Apple's own privacy terms govern iCloud.
Camera
Five wake-up challenges can use the camera, with your permission:
- Make your bed: the photo is analyzed on your iPhone to recognize a bed, then discarded. Rize does not assess tidiness. The photo is not saved or uploaded.
- Touch Grass and Picture of Sky: photos are analyzed on your iPhone to recognize grass or sky, then discarded. Photos are not saved or uploaded. Recognition checks image content and does not prove that you touched grass or went outside.
- Scan an object: the photo you take is analyzed on your device to check the object, then discarded. It is not saved to your library and never leaves your device.
- Push-up challenge: the front camera shows a live self-view and counts your push-ups using on-device face detection. Frames are analyzed in memory and immediately discarded. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Subscriptions and payments
Rize Pro is an auto-renewable subscription processed entirely by Apple through your Apple account. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions on your device.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
None. Rize contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no trackers, and it does not share data with third parties.
On-device sleep coaching
On supported devices, Rize may use Apple's on-device language model to turn your nightly sleep metrics into short wellness suggestions. The request and response are processed on your iPhone. When the on-device model is unavailable, Rize provides a rule-based suggestion instead. Sleep scores and coaching are wellness information, not medical advice.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your alarms, streaks, profile, and settings from the device and from your private iCloud, and signs you out. You can also revoke Rize's Sign in with Apple access in your Apple account settings.
Children
Rize is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly store personal information beyond what is described above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
